RE: Miami pick'em

As fans of British tennis should know, potential seldom counts for anything. I had all 102 picks left in before the start of the tournament and that's hardly translated into points. My target's to get above the BT.net average before the end of the tournament, so that the Hoose will not have been a liability! At least Bethan was able to enjoy her moment of glory!

Well, let's see, you're 9 points ahead at the moment and every remaining pick that sheddie can score for, you'll score for too. So yes, you'll beat him by at least 9 points, the only thing that remains to be seen is how well your other picks do (i.e. your picks that are still alive that he doesn't have) and hence whether by the end it looks like a convincing win or a total thrashing. smile.gif

wow - those Robots know how to pick them!

Billy's in 2nd, despite all the "shocks" and "Average Joe" has done waay better than the people that he's the average of.

It's got very little to do with things going with rankings (because they certainly haven't been) and everything to do with people tending to have picked the "obvious" rankings upsets that haven't happened (e.g. Fish winning a few rounds again, which he didn't, Davy going out early, which he didn't for a change) and missing the crazy ones that have happened.

The robots have missed the second category too, but they haven't been falling down on the first category like most of the rest of us.

Uh- oh, we're bottom of the pile in the team comp. And (whisper it) Steven and his bunch of oldtimers from Rusedski- land are winning cry.gifcry.gif

Enough of the 'old-timers', thank you LOL

More importantly, the Count is now top of the bottom team, in 24th, 21 (!) points ahead of sheddie in 160th (that's 19th from last in old-timer speak!) smile.gif

We 'old-timers' now have two of the top three (sadly, I'm not one of them!) as well as extending our lead in the teams comp. smile

More importantly though, the Count has now made it into the top 10 and is 36 points and 139 places ahead of Sheddie! ashamed

Yep, shocking final result after a tournament pretty much full of shocks. No one managed to guess that Davydenko would win the tournament, only one person had him in the final even.

The final pickem results have been added to www.britishtennis.net/competitions.html. smile.gif

Ooh, 63rd. That's a bit better than my usual lol. Do I get any overall ranking points for coming 63rd?

As Drew says, thanks to Bethan and Steven.

Steven's been away for the weekend so the overall rankings will take a little while to be updated. however, you can see how many points you've earned this tournament by looking in the far right column on the results table - it's called 'ranking points' or something similar.

And Drew you can't retire, just think the (almost)only way is up!!

And it's my pleasure both of you :)
