I agree with the calculation which puts Anne level with Katie if she wins tomorrow - but don't know who will be ranked higher. A silver lining for Naomi and Mel is that had they reached the semis they would have been forced to withdraw from Monzon qualifying
I checked and Anne will be if she wins since she played this tournament last year. Meaning her total tournaments played will stay at 29. Lower than Katie's

Excellent week for Anne. To clarify the situation regarding the British number 1 spot I have checked the WTA Rule Book for 2007 (presumably the same for 2008). which states that:
"When two (2) or more players have the same number of Ranking points, the tie for the ranking position will be decided according to the following priorities: i. The player with the most total points from Grand Slams, WTA Tour Tier I Tournaments and the Sony Ericsson Championships"
Since Katie's Wimbledon points easily wins this contest Anne has to win the title to regain the number 1 spot.
