QF SOUTH, Melanie (GBR) 173 v YAKIMOVA, Anastasia (BLR) 159 CAVADAY, Naomi (GBR) 183 v RYBARIKOVA, Magdalena (SVK) 216
SF KEOTHAVONG, Anne (GBR) 4 135 v VOGT, Stephanie (LIE) 438
Yakimova is a former top 50 player so that will be tough. Vogt is a top 10 junior and apparrently knocked out the top seed 0 and 1! So Anne may come acropper there.
That w/c seems to have been playing some great tennis so I'm glad Anne was able to come through in 2. Well done to Naomi for continuing where she left off. And Mel. What can I say? Great.
I think that every match there is winnable. Good luck to Naomi but especially Anne and Mel!
Anne-Mel final still on the cards!

I have been trying to work out the points totals which is complicated by the two week delay but I think if Anne wins her next match she could be level on points with Katie.
That's such a shame but at least they both reached the QF's and with Anne in the semi's and Ballys results in Belgiumis it just me or are things looking up for our girls. That top group really do seem to be pushing each other slowly upwards. Surely before long 1 of them will reach the top 100. Take out Andy M and our boys are somewhat behind the girls on rankings. Maybe it's time to shine the spotlight a bit more on our girls. They are deffo on the up.
The girls are definitely bunching up in that 100-200 range, but that's a very frustrating place to be. It's not much fun to follow players whose career consists of getting knocked out in the first round of top-tier events (5 lady Boggos? Eep!)
On the other hand it is a huge fillet when one of them does go deep into a WTA tournament. It was great when Anne got to the Kolkata SF - it's hard to imagine anyone other than Boggo (and Andy, of course) doing anything like that at an ATP equivalent.

That takes too long, lol. Just look here. BUt you're right, if Anne wins tomorrow, she goes level on points with Katie. I think she would have played 30 events and Katie 31. I think. I'm not sure because Katie could well have played a tournament this time last year which means they would be level and if anne was defending points from last year then she'd have 29 tournaments played. Not sure. Likelyhood is that Anne will be number 1 if she wins tommorrow.

I agree with the calculation which puts Anne level with Katie if she wins tomorrow - but don't know who will be ranked higher. A silver lining for Naomi and Mel is that had they reached the semis they would have been forced to withdraw from Monzon qualifying
