This is the first real breakthrough and probably the best performance by our current set of "transitional juniors to seniors" so to speak.
Didn't expect it to be Rice. Time for Cox and Evans to step up to the mark shortly.

Great result for David and hopefully this will be the start of him pushing on towards a higher level and could also act as a spur to the other juniors.
He's already beaten higher ranked player this week for Flick isn't beyond beatable and it would be great to see him in a semi final on the clay
You know, I seriously doubt that Rice would be any worse off if he had been playing in Britain. In fact, I suspect that it would have been even better.
Good to see David doin well at ITF. Having seen him at Wrexham last years hes obviously a great player. I've been shocked at the lack of results in the senior game really. Maybe hes been lacking confidence.
Is that tattooed wrist yours? If so, what does it stand for?
Edit: This question is to Gareth, not John.

The better the opponent you play against the more you learn and the better you become............The fields are way stronger in spain, in both the qualies and the main draw!
Hmm, testing yourself against stronger opponents is very much necessary, but it's very important that you play at your own level to earn points. If it hadn't been so, all players ranked inside 500 would be playing ATP and Challenger qualies week in and out.
