Outstanding performance by David. If he plays as well against Kretschmer he must have a chance, though Kretschmer's was no mean feat to knock out the 4th seed. Best Brit display of the day.
L32: David Rice WR 1246 beat Roberto Bautista-Agut (ESP) WR 465 by 3 & 3
L32: David Rice WR 1246 v Gero Kretschmer (GER) WR 694
Kretschmer had a career high of 385 last May. He beat George Morgan in Sheffield earlier this year and Alan Mackin in threee very tight sets two summers ago, but lost to Jamie Murray way back in 2005. He must be playing quite well to have beaten Poch-Gradin today, but then David must have played pretty well too, beating a player more than 750 places higher than him in straight sets is no mean feat!

Nono, I didn't mean that in-tierra means indoor hard! I meant that just like many American indoor Challengers are nothing but outdoor hard surfaces with a roof on top - similarly this must be a normal clay court with a roof on top.
That's three South Americans and one Spaniard he has beaten so far this week, all on CLAY, two of them ranked 300+ places above him, another ranked 750+ places above, and possibly David's first top 500 scalp (?) - certainly doesn't seem like a fluke or anything like that.

Absolutely....no fluke...some real step up performances !
Do we actually have a promising player who likes the red stuff ?
