Just 17, Vivanco-Guzman beat the no. 4 Q seed in QR1, but before it gets too scary, he also lost 2 & 5 to Matt Illingworth in Portugal a couple of weeks ago. He has a good record against Brits otherwise, but nobody of Morgan's standard.

Come on Morgan, I think it's time for you to start scoring ranking points again!

QR2 : Morgan Phillips WR 1408 lost to Andoni Vivanco-Guzman (ESP) WR 1408 by 2 & 4 QR2 : David Rice WR 1255 beat (q3) Marcel Demoliner (BRA) WR 803 by 3 & 2
Really excellent win for David, beating a South American ranked over 450 places above him on clay! Pity about Morgan, I thought he'd do a bit better in his match.
FQR: David Rice WR 1255 v (q10) Facundo Bagnis (ARG) WR 930

Rice makes the MD, excellent 3 set win against a player ranked in the 900's. Not a kind draw though There was a chance he could have faced another qualifier or a wc but has managed to pick out a spaniard ranked in the 400's.
That's some great results from Rice there and he deserves a lot of credit for qualifying, and he looks to be making some progress in this swing out in Spain - doesn't look like he's going to get a deserved point though with that tough draw
