maybe brad is just instilling confidence that alex can win these matches, also giving him a firm gameplan to follow may help alex when things get tough, stop him dropping his head.

Apparently the organisers thought they were going to get Duckboy, but he turned them down - probably because the TD sounded too please that he'd lost to Haas! LOL
I thought you couldn't play a challenger if you were top 10? Hence why Roddick only played doubles at Surbiton last year.

Well, Alex always had the talent, if Brad can sort out his mental problems he may well be getting somewhere!

It would be great if that is the case (and it sounds very plausible to me), as long as by the time they part company, he's given Alex the tools to do this (gameplan, etc) for himself.

Oh wow, now it's really worth qualifying! The Q's have all avoided seeds in R1 and will play Vliegen, Capdeville, Berlocq (the guy Bloomers thrashed at Wimby two years ago) or Reynolds.
Of course this may change if a LL place appears next to a seed before Q/LLs are placed in the draw, but with Gonzo, Nieminen, Starace, Seppi, Tipsy, Grosjean, Gicquel & Montanes seeded here, the draw as it stands could hardly have been better for the qualifiers.
Minar also has a qualifier so there will be at least 1 LL spot, and to be honest, all of the draw except Vliegen aren't too bad and I'd expect Boggo to beat Capdeville, Minar, Berlocq and Reynolds if he played them
I'd think he could get past Dlouhy today as he hasn't done a lot this year and even though he lost to him last time he was dominating the match (the infamous match where Lloyd showed up when Boggo was 6-4 2-1 up and promptly lost 11 games in a row)
Well done to him for getting past Todero as well as he could have let it slip after losing the second set and a 3rd set TB win is always good for the confidence
match starts in one hour from now. i'll call in 2 hours and see if they will give me a score update. yesterday they were only giving final results. when will these challengers learn to do live scoring? and this is a 100k challenger. maybe one day the usta will wise up and let the other craig and i go on tour.
fyi, whoever asked about vlad obradovic. vlad is a good doubles player, but his footwork hurts him on the singles court. when he was here in late january, he was having some severe hand problems. i talked to him a few weeks ago, but he didn't mention anything about it, so hopefully he's getting back to 100%.
I can't believe only one seed made it to the FQR here! I wonder what the LL situation is likely to be, but hope we don't have to worry about it!
Lu is in the main draw - if he loses he gets a LL spot anyway so it just depends on whether he wants to try and secure the 3 points for qualifying
Levy and Hernych are both ranked higher than Boggo so they will be above him in the LL list, but next would be Boggo (so 2nd or 3rd depending on what Lu does, so we need to cheer him on)
But hopefully Boggo wins so he don't have to worry about this (and then draw Berlocq as he is the only one in that 1/8th of the draw who can play on a hard court)
