Just reading over this thread, which has passed me by for the last few days - good luck Daniel!
To whoever was appealing for a Channel Islander to walk into the qualifying draw, I'm from Jersey - but unfortunately residing in Paris at the moment. So rather than taking on Britain's finest in the Jersey qualifying event, I've had to settle for a game with my mate Big Dave in the Jardin du Luxembourg. I'll try to remember to send a match report.
Updated with latest withdrawals - Daniel are you still planning on playing here??
Yeah, I'm going to go over this afternoon to sign in for qualifying (and also to get my racquet back if they've finally got around to re-stringing it (it's taken them 2 weeks so far though...)
Sign in finishes at 1800 so hopefully I'll know around then whether I've made the cut or not
Had to leave before the sign up closed so have no idea on the draw or whether I made the cut, but according to Wojciach (the crazy pole) there was only about 15/20 people signed up when he did it at about 4-30 so there won't be too many in the qualifying draw, and so I should be a cert to play
Draw should be out at around 7pm-ish so I'll try and find out on the draw and order of play as soon as I can.
Just a few bits of news that I picked up - Tim Hewitt has a WC but there was no news on the other 3 WC though (and no-one had it listed against their name in the sign-in as well).
George Morgan is very highly rated by some of the players - they were saying that they think he's better than Andy Murray was at 14/15 so that some promising news for the future
And there is at least 1 person in the qualifying draw I may have a chance against so hoping I draw him (although Dee is the ideal target as it means whatever happens I go down in history)
