Canas/Nalbandian have just beaten Fyrstenberg/Matkowski. That justifies the '2 good singles players beat a decent doubles pairing' doesn't it?
Don't mean to piss on my own bonfire here, but Hanley and Paes just dealt with Nadal/Ferrer in straight sets. However is there really any doubt that if Nadal or Ferrer were to concentrate on doubles, that with their talent it woulnd't be long before they adapted their game and were at least top 5?

LOL - it might however lend weight to the argument that one of the things that compromises doubles is that the singles specialists often don't care whether they win or not, unless they're out of singles and don't have another event to go to.
