Hutchins and Kendrick are the 2nd seeds here while Delgado and Dick Norman are seeded 4th.
Delgo & Norman were scheduled to play their first-round doubles match against Andujar & Vicente (ESP/ESP) yesterday, but from what I've been able to gather, they've had a bit of a Wimbledon-type rain problem - - so I don't think it happpened. The tournament has its own web site, but it's both frustrating to find useful information & less than forthcoming with the kind for which most fans visit such places (the "Draws" ["Cuadros"] & "OoP"/"Results" ["Programación y resultados"] tabs, for example, yield little of value) - &, as far as I can tell in the short amount of time I've been able to spend looking round it, it doesn't mention the weather! Still, it is at least in Roman script, so nowhere near as useless as the Kyoto site!
* One thing I have discovered is that, if you click on the bit that says "Consulte aqui la programación para el martes 4 de marzo, cinco cabezas de serie y cuatro colombianos en actividad. Ver más...", it takes you to the OoP! The date will obviously change each day, so tomorrow it should say "... para el miercoles 5 de marzo..."
from what I've been able to gather, they've had a bit of a Wimbledon-type rain problem
--------------------------------------------------------- Average July rainfall in London - 45 mm (for the entire month) Average March rainfall for Bogota - 800mm, so 25mm per day
yeah, there's a fair chance it may have rained yesterday!
I dunno if this is still being held over from Monday, but Delgado's match is 6-1, 6-7 at the moment, and they are due to finish it off last on centre court today, after Hutchins begins his campaign. The reason it is on so late is because Norman, Vicente and Andujar all have singles matches to play first.
Update on play on the centre court: further heavy rain in Bogotá today forced play to be abandoned during the third match (a singles involving Carlos Salamanca & our old friend, Daniel Koellerer)...!
1st round result was: 61 67(5) 10-7 QF result was:63 64 against Hartfield and Hood.
Meanwhile Hutch and Kendrick beat Franco and Galan 1&2
Ah, I see you've beaten me to it, Rob. Good to see some news emerging from Bogotá at long, long last - & all of it good (so far) from our point of view! Hutch & Kendrick are due to play again today, in the third match on the Stadium Court Play is scheduled to start at 11.00 local time/16.00 GMT - weather permitting, of course! They will face the unseeded US/Argentinian partnership of Hugo Armando & Martín Vassallo Argüello (of Davy-donkey betting fame!), who had a tremendous tussle with Eduardo Schwank & Horacio Zeballos (ARG/ARG) in the first round, eventually overcoming them 6-7(11) 7-6(7) [11-9]! The match after theirs will determine whom Delgo & Norman will face in the SF, Brian ( ) Dabul (ARG) & the Paraguayan Delgado, Ramón, or Marcos Daniel & Santiago González (BRA/MEX).
Interestingly, Dabul & Delgado took out the top seeds, Marach & Mertinak (AUT/SVK), easily in the first round (1 & 5), while the Brazilian pair, Bellucci & Soares, accounted for the third seeds, Parrott & Polasek (USA/SVK), 4 & 4 in their QF. That means that our boys are in the only remaining seeded partnerships! Bellucci & Soares lie in wait for Hutch & Kendrick, should they win their QF...!
