Thanks for that - two tight defeats for Jonny; however, after what happened in India, a little thing like a double loss won't bother him, I would guess!
The first result we knew of course, the second I don't think we had the score (it was pretty close) and details of Kyle's QF opponent:
L16: (Q) Kyle Brassington WR 1404 beat (1) Timo Nieminen (FIN) WR 460 by 4 & 4 L16: (Q) Jonathan Kinsella WR 1492 lost to Todd Paul (USA) WR 875 by 6-3 5-7 6-4
QF: (Q) Kyle Brassington WR 1404 v (6) Erik Chvojka (CAN) WR 607
This is Chvojka's third Futures QF so far this year. The other two were in Portugal in January and he reached the semis in the second. He also won a Future in Mexico back in October, his first title.
As far as form against Brits is concerned, he lost to Ross Hutchins in straight sets in Canada two years ago and beat Richard Stera in straight sets in the Czech Republic last year, which doesn't provide much to go on!

Would be sensational if Kyle could win again tomorrow. A genuine breakthrough!

CC, Kyle dosen't appear to have much of a junior record, I wondered what the story was, can you provide a little more background on him, is he someone that can have the career in the sport this result suggests?
Kyle was ranked in the top 10 in the country in juniors and and been playing full time for a few years now but I only started work with him at the end of last year. He can definately have a big career in the sport. He is strong and athletic and most important of all he has major weapons in his game, and that is essential in the mens game. On any given day if Kyle plays well, he will beat anybody in the draw, it is just a case of getting consistancy.
Well, with three out of four GB quarter-finalist results known today, and all of them losses for once it's not 'Boggo or bust', 'Bloomers or bust' or even 'Baker or bust' for our hopes of someone making it to the weekend, it's 'Brassington or bust'! (not a phrase I expected to be using at the start of the week!)
No pressure, Kyle!

hmm, doesn't have quite the same ring to it as go Boggo, Bloomers or Baker boy. could we perhaps come up with a nickname? He definitely deserves it being the last Brit standing this week. CourtCrazy, does Kyle have one already that we could adopt?

Being naturally lazy, I suggest we simply adopt a standardised 'B or bust', then we don't have the bother of thinking out which one we're discussing - saves typing, too.
well yeah, BUT that plan rather falls down if you want to know which Brit has the honour of being the last man standing when all you have to go on is 'B' (especially if it happens to be Murray or Goodall etc that week )
