No the LTA aren't giving any extra funds at all to players, despite cutting down on the British tournaments.
Jonny's results have been a little inconsistant but that is mainly due to the fact that he picked up his first point in India last year and the week after that, both he and Kyle got cholora from a bottle of water. Kyle was very ill but Jonny was almost at deaths door and therefore didn't play for months. Obviously he has taken some time to get his health and fitness back!
Cholera? Eek - that's a bit of a severe occupational hazard! All this is so much more illuminating than just seeing results and wondering what's happened. I'm glad he's now healthy and seemingly back on form again.
As I've said on another thread (possibly more than one - TBarM7's messages to Jamie may not be the only broken record around here LOL), while I agree that some of the Brits should be more adventurous, using that as an excuse to cut the number of tournaments in the UK makes no sense to me.
I don't envy Hutchins having to find a way to try to appear even-handed when giving out WCs, but rather than penalising everyone for the 'sins' of a few (like a teacher who can't control the troublemakers in their class and thinks putting the whole class in detention will solve it), all he needs to do is start giving the WCs to players who have shown more initiative and withholding them from those who haven't. It can't be that hard, can it?

Hey Courtcrazy.. I think we may have momentarily met at the Sheffield Futures event in January. Was your Father at the tournament? [or am I mixing you up with someone else..]
I would hope that one of Brassington, Bradshaw and Kinsella could qualify, go deep and maybe crack that top 1000 this week!
Ambitious, Johnny! Any one of them would need to reach the final to break into the top 1000.
Ambitous but possible.
These are the kind of breakthroughs we need to see more of!
Like that French fella who won back to back Nigerian Ogbe Futures. Came from nowhere to almost the top 500 in two weeks.
Great to hear from Kyle, Jonathan, Ross and Tim's coach. Of all the travelling Futures pros, the results and tournament choices of these have always stood out to me!
With players ranked 275-1275 I believe they can all compete wiht each other. Its just getting the head down and believing ion yourself and making the trips to some unsavoury places!
