Steven, your alarm clock clearly failed to go off and you've slept through a whole day again! If you look back two posts from your last one, you'll see one from Wolf giving those doubles results FROM YESTERDAY!!
Kinsella's doubles run in the far east last year suggested there must be talent there - looks as though it may now be starting to show in singles; do we know where he's been till his present, relatively advanced, age - is he another Ken Skupski, buried in US college tennis, and now graduated/released?
Oops, sorry, more evidence of my rather limited interest in doubles - early round doubles results go in one eye and out the other, you might say. I just thought if I was checking the singles results and might as well save someone else the hassle of checking the doubles results too, didn't realise they'd already been done.
Kinsella - yes, he was at Arizona State - see http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-tennis/mtt/kinsella_jonathan00.html so that explains why he played so intermittently until last year. He actually won quite a lot of matches last year in Futures qualifying, just didn't manage to make any real breakthrough in main draws.

Wow! That's a brilliant win by Kinsella. Mergea has won 7 futures titles in his time. plus he won the Wimbledon Boys title in 2003 (beating Berdych on the way).
Hello, I am coach to both Jonny Kinsella and Kyle Brassington and thought I would give you a bit of info on both players.
Both players train full time in Leeds along with Ross Connolly who works personally with my friend Gary Henderson. Jonny and Kyle are both playing great tennis at the minute so it is no suprise to me what has happened over the last few days.
Kyle has been playing some great stuff all year, but with no luck in the draws. With a couple of better draws he would have picked up points in the GB tournaments earlier this year. We then went to Cuba onto courts that did not suit his game at all but he still performed well but came up against quality players on those courts. I started working with Kyle at the beginning of November last year.
I begun work with Jon at the start of January this year and he too has been playing well but really started to play some great stuff in Cuba. He has now added a consistancy to his game. Yesterday was a massive win because I honestly thought that Mergea was the best player in the draw. He has been around a few years and is an outstanding player. Jonny showed his potential by taking him out.
Both Jonny and Kyle and indeed Ross are destined for big things this year.
Welcome to the board, CourtCrazy, and thank you for that insight. It is really helpful when we can get "inside information" like that about our players.
Thanks very much for the inside info and well done to whoever realised that these Futures in Quebec usually offer a better chance to gain points than Futures in Europe & the US.
As it was, they weren't nearly as lucky with the draw as they might have been, with Ross meeting the no. 1 seed in R1, Kyle due to meet him in R2 and Jonathan getting Mergea, but two of them getting points in both singles & doubles and Jonathan getting such a stunning win must make it all seem worthwhile.
I look forward to following them as they move up the rankings!

Welcome to the board, CourtCrazy, and thanks very much for the information on your boys. We've been following Jonny's and Kyle's development with great interest over the better part of a year, now, and, from a distance, have come to pretty much the same conclusion in terms of good performances and unlucky draws, though without your close-up knowledge, of course. We'd be delighted to hear more about the two of them and/or by proxy, about Ross, - in terms of future plans, for instance. As you'll have noticed if you've been a reader for a while, our posters thoroughly enjoy hearing 'straight from the horse's mouth', with very interesting input from Andrew Fitzpatrick and, especially, Edward Seator, recently.
Steven, just because you post doubles results a second time doesn't mean the lads have won through two rounds
- and that's what you need to do to earn points in Futures doubles these days. No points for reaching the quarters, only when you hit the semis - a shame, I think.
Our immediate plans are to play the next 2 weeks in Canada and then the 2 GBs that immdiately follow. For some reason though, the next 2 weeks in Canada have suddenly become very strong but are probably still worth staying. After that we are still unsure as to what to do. There really is nowhere that stands out, and being that we are obviously on a limited budget, we have to choose our trips abroad very carefully. I think Greece is an option in May but that still leaves April with no activity. There is a chance that Ross will go to France after the GBs but I think he is undecided as yet.

Really?! Maybe I should start avoding posting about doubles again, all I seem to manage is to highlight how little I know about compared to singles. LOL

Apparently Mr Hutchins did not take finances into account when he said he wants the players to travel more! I think Greece is an option in May but that still leaves April with no activity. So the LTA aren't using the money they've saved from having less GB Futures and Challengers to help with travel costs? That's a pity, if not a surprise.
Maybe the next two weeks in Canada have got stronger because people have started to cotton onto the fact that Futures there tend to be weaker than those in the US - I've noticed in the past that if Futures in developed countries that are relatively easy to get to are weak for a couple of years, they tend to start attracting more players.
Greece was good last year, clearly suited the British 'style' and hopefully has another year to go before it starts getting stronger too, so that sounds like a good plan. I see what you mean about April, there's not much on offer unless any of them like playing on clay, in which case there's France or weaker 10Ks in Turkey. Mexico might be an idea, if it wasn't for the fact that it was such a long trip and only the first week doesn't coincide with the next set of GB Futures.

Oh, please, no, Steven. You go on posting about doubles; it gives the rest of us hope - and a wee bit of fun - knowing you're not actually totally omniscient, as we might otherwise come to believe!
