In qualifying here, a 14-year-old called Sabrina Bamburac got a WC and managed to win her first senior match by beating unranked (but has won the odd match before) Gabriela Witdarmono (INA) 3 & 2 biggrin

before going out 2 & 2 to no. 6 seed Simona Dobra (CZE) WR 671.

Bamburac was threatened with deportation back to Croatia back in 2003, so this isn't the first battle she's won!
