RE: BT.net articles - Anyone want to help?

Any update on the picture zapping/uploading? I think it's a good idea, because it really brightens up the articles on the site. Didn't someone have some pics from the Manchester challenger, maybe we could get them up.

In the absence of FD (enjoying himself at uni I presume) I have updated the site for the last week or so and am back in the swing of things!

Or waiting for BT to activate the phone line, and then for Sky to activate the internet, which has meant that it's taken 5 weeks since I actually got back in Eastbourne for the internet to work in the house (plus an extra day or 2 because of the stupid timetable which meant I couldn't get a wireless adapter yesterday)

Internet is working now though, so I'll be able to start updating the site again, if having to do hours of shorthand practice a day, and playing Fifa 09 doesn't get in the way too much  biggrin

Great. It might be a good idea if one of you PMs the other, and sorts out which things you are each going to cover, to avoid waste of time by either of you?

I am also willing to write articles to keep the homepage up to date. Obviously I'm out of the loop in comparison to you two [FD & Drew] so if you feel an article is needed then just post here and I can begin to get into a routine with you guys.

James if you state here what you intend to do first then folks can see. Do you have a particular interest in tennis you could do articles on ?

Also I will defo be doing more for the site.

I'm happy to concentrate on the articles for the women.

Ok sure: Well I tend to lean towards Mens tennis with regards to interest so therefore would be able to do comprehensive Futures updates, weekly reports, ATP updates etc etc. However I would also like to think that I have a good enough grasp of Inglesh language to contribute any off-beat articles if the case arose - plus I also believe that I am objective in my writing, so wouldn't cause offence through obvious bias.

However I am also willing to lend a hand in writing articles of any other subject if it was required - although it looks like Wolf has the Women's side covered.

Hiya guys, I think I am going to have to take a back seat from updating the site. I have what is now fast becoming an alarming amount of college work to complete (it is now nearly 1 in the morning and I am still working, if that gives you an indication).

I've been updating the womens side for the past month but haven't updated Laura's and Anne's tournament wins from last week, so maybe someone could just quickly run through those.

With the season drawing to a close there shouldn't be that much to update for the women anyway (although Mel's quest for the top 100 should keep us occupied) if anyone wants to take over.

Can't find the relevant thread about the pictures at the top of the message board but would just like to make a request. I realise that the picture is likely to change for the Aus Open fairly soon but for the one that fills the gaps between major tournaments, is it possible to include Mel South in the line up, even at the expense of another player, as she has worked very hard to merit her GB no 2 player position but isn't yet recognised for this in the page heading.

Thanks.

I notice that the home page hasn't been updated since wolf (who did a fabulous job of it) ran out of time to do it, whoich is a real pity, and unfortunately stats and pick 'ems don't leave me any 'tennis time' to commit to doing it myself, but I've had a pm from someone on AM.com who'd like to write a bit, at least about Andy's matches (which would be better than nothing) if someone can tell him how to do it and get stuff online.

I'm not sure who actually runs the home page, as it were, but is anyone happy to elp him get started if I put him in touch with you?

Thanks in advance.

One other thing - might it be worth changing the convention for writing anonymous articles for the home page to encouraging people to put their name (or nickname) on them. If peoples' contributions to the home page were more visible and they got the credit for them, it might just make more people willing to write them ... and it'd be interesting to see who's writing them too.

Alternatively, if nobody has time to add articles to the homepage, might it not be better to blank the articles section (i.e. months out of date looks worse than nothing at all) and just encourage people to go to the forum for the latest news instead?
