Lucky Loser Places in Futures - The final word?

this pdf on the USTA site

would seem to confirm that LL places are determined by a "draw/raffle" of the ranked players who lose in final qualies, followed by any others who sign up.

Not futures but all lucky losers - ignore the first bit (if you want) but there's a nice summary of lucky loser winners of ATP-WTA events further down (for people who like stats, and quirky snippets)

Thanks CD - one slight caveat to the way this is written by the website; if a lucky loser spot opens up BEFORE the qualies draw is completed in the ATP, then (to avoid ethical issues of players retiring after one game etc) there is a draw from the top ranked players +1 for that LL spot; ie if there are LL spots before qualies completes, then top 3 ranked players losing in the final round of qualies will go into a draw for those 2 slots etc. If the LL spot arises AFTER qualies is complete (ie there can be less chance of collusion etc) then the top ranked player gets it (as the article says).

Not sure if it is exactly the same in WTA, presume it is, and presume ditto for ITF events?

Yes, from memory I think it's the same for WTA. ITF is a draw of all ATP/WTA ranked losers, then a draw of all ITF ranked losers then a draw of all unranked losers.
Grand Slams is a draw of LL spots + 2 subject to a minimum of 4 in the draw.
