Lol, only just got round to reading that article there. Very strange indeed, not sure I've ever seen anything like that on an official site. Almost like they're revelling in her defeat.
Hopefully we can put it down to the author not speaking English as a first language and the tone coming across to us all wrong

A link to the Ogbe website has found its way onto steveg, which is great.
Today's news story is another minor classic - ANNA WEEPS OPENLY AS FELLOW UKRANIAN, KHARCHENKO (the rest of the headline seems to have disappeared into the ether) http://ogbehardcourtchampionship.com/news.php?news_id=12 though it does perhaps show a slightly dodgy attitude towards the female players.
"For over two hours, long after her crushing defeat in the semi-final match at the Ogbe Tennis, 18-year old Piven Anna sat alone on the spectators side of court three, weeping and looking like a lost child. It was a pathetic sight to behold." (continues)
I like the description of "the furious and well-focused smashing Kharchsenko", but I don't think "the stout-looking Israeli, Keren Shlomo" will be too impressed ...

"Ukrainian Khristina Kazimova is in love with tennis and that is why she is at the Ogbe Tennis championship but the advice she is getting from Tony Oghuma is to quit the sport and play volleyball. Go and play volleyball, Oghuma, former national volleyball coach, told Kazimova pointedly after watching her knock some balls on court one Thursday afternoon." (continues)
Of course, the fact that he's a volleyball coach makes this not quite as harsh as it first sounds! Worth a read this one, Kazimova makes some good points about why she prefers tennis.

Olivia read this thread...sent me an email to clarify what happened with "the interview".....she feels that posters here have been a bit negative....
"Just to clear things up, some guy came up to me with a piece of paper and a pen and asked me if i thought i could win the tournament, nothing else so i just said i guess so.., he barely spoke a word of english though and as for the girl that i played she was decent. She has beaten a player called Baldussi who beat sarah borwell and natasha khan last year so she isnt a bunny rabbit. she had a very good serve which was hard to return on these courts...... and also to take into consideration i have never won a point outside of the uk so always the added preassure of that
