I think Jamie got it spot on playing these futures - needed to gain some 'cheap' points as had slid down the rankings and it fitted in nicely with his schedule. I'm sure you will see him back on the challengers circuit next (there is no way imho that he will be playing $10K Futures in GB)
Hope he tries qualies for Sunrise and perhaps sneak into Miami qualifying with his improved ranking. If not then it will be Mexco and Puerta Rico I think
sunrise is tough, if i remeber from last year they make you play twice on the same day and have top 100 players in the qualies!!
what about heading to europe to play some clay challengers? he surely would have been bouyed by the DC experience. there are 3 italian clay challengers in a row.
remember you have to enter challengers 6 weeks in advance, so its hard to tell what he would have been thinking re: his ranking that far in advance. of course qualies is always an option.

Given how much he seems to like the southern US, I can't see him not going for Tallahassee (w/c 14 Apr) and Baton Rouge (w/c 21 Apr), both on hard courts, and then perhaps Lanzarote (also on hard courts and popular among the Brits in previous years) the following week, then maybe a week's rest followed by a Challenger on clay (in Europe if he's come over for Lanzarote, in Bradenton if he hasn't) before RG qualifying.
Of course, given how well he did in Argentina, he might even decide to play a clay court event rather than a hard court event even in some of the weeks where he has a choice.
Between now and 14 April, it depends whether he wants to stay in the Americas. If he does, he could try to qualify for Sunrise in the 2nd week of IW after a week's rest, then there's Leon (MEX), a break, then Puerto Rico in the week before Tallahassee, all on hard courts. Alternatively, there's Sarajevo followed by perhaps a clay court Challenger somewhere, or a bit of time at home playing the GB Futures, though going back to 10Ks could be seen as a retrograde step.
I imagine he's got it all planned out pretty well though, he usually seems to know what he's doing!

oh maybe it 4 weeks in advcance then. yes that must be right atp's 6, ch 4
i am not sure if bradenton would be a good idea, there are a lot of clay challengers in Europe that week, would maybe mean the lower ones would be weaker. also its the RGQ the week after. last yera jamie skipped it to could gain plenty of points.

another impressive run about this harlingen tourney. jamie's opponent went through qualies and 4 matches in mains without losing a set. very well done jb
Are we forgetting that Jamie lost to the Argentinian no22 in the qualies of a clay event recently. I dont think clay would be a very good idea right now
