Looks like Anna and Larsson are becoming a bit of a force in ladies' doubles. That's two 25k finals in as many weeks. If Anna Smith can bring a bit more consistency to the table I'm sure Larsson is good enough to beat anyone at this level.

Agreed about Larsson, who will also be a handful for Anne tomorrow (she only lost 1 game today to Ivana Lisjak, who of course beat Anne in Midland last week)

This extract from Mel's website explains Mel's surprise loss:

"13/02/2008 MEL DOWNED WITH CHEST INFECTION

Melanie woke yesterday with the worst headache she says she has ever had and today she is feeling worse but Mel being Mel she is giving it a go, never one to pull out however she feels.

.....Mel played but lost so is booking her flight home and an appointment with her doctor, hoping to be recovered for Italy next week."
