It now looks like QR2 has been held over until tomorrow.
Jamie will play Horacio Zeballos (ARG) WR 262, a left-hander, who was ranked in the top 200 just under a year ago, mainly due to a few Futures titles in late 2006. He hasn't done nearly as well since stepping up to Challengers and before this tournament he was on a 7-match losing streak and had lost 11 of his last 12.
He hasn't played a Brit in singles at senior level before, but he beat Naomi Cavaday's brother Nick in qualifying for junior Wimby back in 2003 and earlier that year he beat a young Andy Murray (yes, really!) on clay in the QFs of the Asuncion Bowl.
Despite being a top 100 doubles player, he and his partner lost to Jamie Delgado and his partner 1 & 3 in the doubles Final at the Sao Paulo Challenger earlier this month.

from what i can gather alex wont be playing here in any form
they have arranged some exhibition matches towards the end of the week tho.
alex needs a bit of a break to be honest, he is absolutly shattered at the moment so maybe its a good thing he didnt get in, dont want him picking up an injury.

great to see Baker win, hope he can beat Zeballos as well tomorrow. and hopefully they'll be livescores though I'm not holding out too much hope of that.
I'm not surprised Alex is shattered Count, like you say probably a good thing that he can get a couple of days rest.

Apparently he lost in straight sets to Zeballos, the Argentine no. 23 - if anyone needed a measure of how tough the DC tie is going to be, that should provide it!
