Guys, this thread is intended to be the Junior equivalent of the men's 'official' celebratory thread; I understand that the high-heid yins will be stickying it, and that I'm expected to update it until, perhaps, it becomes part of a new web-page one day. However, I'm going to need A LOT of help from my friends! Although I'm an interested follower of junior tennis, I know relatively little of the ranking points system so, while I'm sure I'll notice any British title-winners, like Lewis above, I'm not likely to spot any new career highs, which is the other achievement we plan to recognise here. Please, then, deacrt, arka and you other experts on the juniors, when you see a British youngster hit a new career-best ranking (which I imagine will happen much more often than among the seniors, given that a year-group leaves the system en bloc every twelve months), post it in this thread and I, or a mod, will transfer it to the 'official' Successes list above.
(A wee while ago, an equivalent post to this appeared in the Women's list; it says much the same, so please don't feel the need to read it!)

does a Grand Slam Quarter- final count?

Don't think so, Rob, though I'm quite willing to be overruled.

I realise reaching the quarters of a slam requires a far better (nearly said 'infinitely', then recalled I was speaking to a mathematician!) performance than winning a Futures; however, if we go down the equivalence route, we get into the kind of futile argument that some of the juniors did recently - slam singles quarters vis a vis doubles champion! I really don't fancy being the arbiter on that kind of argument. I vote for wins only, at whatever level, thereby reflecting success at the level the player is presently at.

Perhaps, then, I should temper my enthusiasm for Jamie B's AO qualies success, and remove him from the 'Successes' list - thoughts, folks?

I'll go for tournament wins, but make an exempt if a player gets to a Grand Slam quater-final in singles and a Grand Slam semi-final in doubles.

I'd say just tournament wins. Grand Slam results (in singles and doubles) will still be cheered and included in the 'best junior/man/woman of the month' polls and its not like we're writing them off. But I think this thread should have only tournament wins and career highs.

By extension, I guess Jamie B should be taken off the men's thread. But I don't want him to be!!

I've added Dan's tournament win biggrin.gif

He'll also break the top100 and be at a new career high ranking I believe so that'll need to be added when it's out. smile.gif
