RE: British Men - Top 25 etc table

I think I would prefer option C) the last page of the thread, but with newest post at the bottom.

I was going to say "please don't ask me for either of the two missing options because I'm pretty sure they're impossible" ... then I thought, no, nobody will be that annoying! LOL

Seriously though, option C) would be my preferred option too, but I don't think it's possible to do it by customising the link - if it is, please let me know!

The AM.com forum has an even more clever way of doing it - if you're logged in, it takes you to the first post that was added after you last visited the thread, but sadly I don't think Activeboard is that advanced!

It doesn't really affect me - I never use the links! I just look for the thread in the forum (trust me to do things the hard way!)

Ditto

Though I do definitely like the threads with oldest post first so I guess A)

So do I LOL - in fact, I imagine the links aren't used that much by those of us who visit the forum frequently (though I think it was a regular user of the forum who asked for them in the first place) and they're more likely to be used by those who aren't on here so much but see a result on the table that they want to find out more about.

However, if anyone does use the links on the table and has a view, please let me know. Just to reiterate, the question is:

Should the links just underneath the table to each tournament thread on the forum go to:

A) the first page of the thread with the oldest post first (as now)

B) the last page of the thread with the posts in reverse order, i.e. most recent post first

16 May rankings now added.

7 new singles CHs include 4 in the top 1000 - Josh Milton @ 338, Alex Ward @ 464 (despite losing the GB no. 12 spot to Dr No), Liam Broady @ 736 (his 8th singles CH of the year so far) and Oliver Golding, finally into three-figures @ 994. It's great to see Fitzy joining the GB Top 25 too. smile.gif In addition, Lloyd Glasspool becomes GB's fourth 17yo to be ranked at the moment - he's the second youngest after Liam Broady.

7 new doubles CHs include 3 in the top 500 - Jamie Delgado @ 75, Sean Thornley into the top 300 for the first time @ 298 and Dr No @ 309.

6 June rankings now added.

New singles CHs for Dan Cox, up 3 today to 273, Josh Milton, up 22 to 316, Dave Rice, up 50 to 411 (and up from GB 12 to GB 9), Lewis Burton, up 515 to 877 (and up from GB 43 to GB 21!) and Daniel McGrath, new at 1658.

There are a lot more new entrants generally than there are leavers this week, as a result of the sudden glut of Futures events since the week before RG, which kind of made up for the Futures/Challengers famine earlier in 2011 but suggests dodgy timetabling this year!

New doubles CHs: Sean Thornley, up 27 to 266, Dave Rice, up 28 to 280, Morgan Phillips, up 2 to 437, Lewis Burton, up 57 to 494, Dan Cox, up 267 to 616, and James Marsalek, up 441 to 1006.

4 July rankings now added.

The top 5 new GB singles CHs are Dan Cox and Josh Milton, edging up to 271 and 310 respectively, Liam, up 78 to 668, Oli, up 180 to 790, and Fitzy, up 65 to 877.

In the doubles rankings, Wimbledon QF-ists Flembo and Hutch are up 8 to 61 and 10 to 63 respectively, but the only new CHs are for Sean Thornley, up 23 to 241, and David Rice, up 26 to 250. So they the top 250 cut slightly late, but probably wouldn't have done so without the points gained in qualifying!

Boggo slips outside of the top 400, although the 6 points he's earned so far this week should have him back inside as a minimum. After that he's got 17 points due to come of next week in Aptos and the 32 later in the year in Eckental, but that's it for the year so if he can put together a string of wins somewhere (and winning today would certainly be a nice start) then he could make some swift gains.

Updated with 11 July ATP rankings - unfortunately the biggest men's mover by far is Bloomers, down 265 to 597 (GB 7 to 16) now that his Newport 2010 SF points have come off, despite him doing better than his old ranking suggested at Newport this year.

There are 11 new singles CHs, including Dan Cox, up 13 to 258, Oli Golding at 788., Lewis Burton at 866, Fitzy at 874 and Jack Carpenter at 967 in the top 1000.

Sean Thornley at 237 has reached his 15th new doubles CH of 2011 so far and there are also new doubles CHs for David Rice at 243, Dan Dox at 547 and Josh Milton at 560.

Updated with 18 July ATP rankings. Not much movement because the two players with most points to add (Boggo and Goodall) were defending points from the same rounds the year before, but Josh Milton edges up to a new CH at 307 and there are also new singles CHs for Fitzy, up 21 to 853, and James Marsalek, up 54 to 1054.

There are new doubles CHs for Sean Thornley at 231, Dave Rice at 234, Dan Cox at 488, Josh Milton at 502 and George Morgan at 1008, the latter probably little compensation for his 876-place drop from 990 to 1866 in the singles rankings! Hopefully, George will be going back up again before too long.

Updated with 25 July ATP rankings.

Highlights include Wardy rising 21 to 177, just 1 off his career high, Jamie Baker rejoining the GB top 5 as he moves up 20 to 312 and Josh Goodall rejoining the GB top 10 as he moves up 22 to 439.

There are new singles career highs for Liam Broady, up 4 to 667, James Marsalek, up 89 to 965 (he is also now certain to join the GB top 25 next Monday at the expense of Neal Skupski, so given that and the fact that he is playing in a tournament this week, I have added him to the table already, though Neal will stay on it for this week too) and David O'Leary, new at 1596. George Coupland has joined the rankings too, but he is back on below his CH after being ranked a couple of years ago.

Sean Thornley at 229 and David Rice at 232 have edged up to their weekly doubles CHs (Sean has hit a new CH on each of the last 10 ranking lists!), while Josh Milton enters the doubles top 500 at 498.
