It's because the "still in ..." smile was tagged "nervous smile" on the GRMB, hence it seemed appropriate. I've been wondering about that too though, since it does look like a broader smile than the got a round further than expected one.

The rest of Tuesday's results have been added to http://www.britishtennis.net/gbtop25m/current.htm- as shown at the bottom of the table, three Brits outside the top 25 have gained a ranking point this week, which is good going, especially for a week with no home event on.
Including them, we have six players already in R2 of their events, three more still to play R1.

Yes, but because it adds yet more garish highlighting, I'm only going to do it Mon-Wed when R1s tend to be on - after that, players left in tend to be down to play every day.

Updated with Baker's win and Barlow's loss. Josh's loss in Faro on Wednesday means that 5 of our top 25 have gone out two or more rounds before they were seeded to this week ... yet oddly it still feels like it's been a pretty good week so far!

http://www.britishtennis.net/gbtop25m/current.htm has now been updated to the end of Thursday. The high point was undoubtedly Boggo's win, though Jamie B's recovery from 6 match points to reach the QFs in Harlingen was impressive, even if it is bit of a concern that he managed to get into that much difficulty against a LL in the first place.
Other than not, not a great day - the quarter of the draw in Faro that originally had three Brits in it ended up with no Brits in the QFs as both Eaton & Ward lost, and Accardo got revenge for last year's defeat against Seator. This will leave a fair bit of suspense about whether Edward and/or James will make it to the top 500 on Monday week - I think at least one of them will (it should be possible to make a better guess this coming Monday) but after Monday week, it'll be two weeks before the next rankings come out.
Bogaker or bust this week then ...

This is the first week when there have been quite a lot of entries in all of the lw, tw and nw columns, and even I was finding it hard to see at a glance which points were being added and which were being taken off.
I've now added a week 10 table (available via the FOLLOWING WEEK link near the top right of the current week's table) showing entry list information for next week.
Given the 'timeshift' that's operating at the moment (which is responsible for Dubai 2007 points coming off when Dubai 2008 starts rather than when it finishes, for example), it's a bit unclear whether points from the corresponding week last year (i.e. Challengers in week 1 of IW 2007 and Futures frm the week before that) will come off on the rankings on Monday week or only after IW. The consensus seems to be that no ranking points (at all) will come off on Monday week, which is unfortunate because it increases the chance of Edward and James being edged out of a top 500 place despite the fact that they will have 53 points at that stage.

I hadn't thought of that, Steven, thanks for pointing it out. Who forms the 'consensus', by the way - is there a worldwide network of tennis statistians, as there is in athletics, for instance, or are you just talking about yourself and Rob plus a few others?
