David BREWER (GBR) (3) defeated Chris PRIDDLE (GBR) 6-1 7-5
Kyle BRASSINGTON (GBR) (13) defeated Robert VARGA (HUN) (4) 6-2 6-3
Wojciech STARAKIEWICZ (POL) defeated Yordan KANEV (BUL) (5) 3-6 6-4 6-3
Edward ALLINSON (GBR) (6) defeated Marek MROZEK (POL) (12) 7-5 6-1
Henrik NORFELDT (SWE) (7) defeated Sean THORNLEY (GBR) (10) 6-2 6-0
Clement REIX (FRA) (8) defeated Mikhail KARPOL (CRO) 6-4 Retired

Singles 1st Round:

Richard BLOOMFIELD (GBR) (1) Vs David BREWER (GBR)
Matthew SMITH (GBR) Vs Michal PAZICKY (SVK)
Carl BERGMAN (SWE) Vs Daniel KUMLIN (SWE)
Ian FLANAGAN (GBR) Vs Miles KASIRI (GBR) (5)

Timo NIEMINEN (FIN) (3) Vs Henrik NORFELDT (SWE)
Jiri KRKOSKA (CZE) Vs Purav RAJA (IND)
Clement REIX (FRA) Vs Mait KUNNAP (EST)
Edward ALLINSON (GBR) Vs Nikola MEKTIC (CRO) (8)

Olivier CHARROIN (FRA) (7) Vs Kyle BRASSINGTON (GBR)
Tim MATTHEWSON (GBR) Vs Alexander SOMOGYI (SVK)
Wojciech STARAKIEWICZ (POL) Vs Ken SKUPSKI (GBR)
Joshua MILTON (GBR) Vs Alexander FLOCK (GER) (4)

Gero KRETSCHMER (GER) (6) Vs George MORGAN (GBR)
Harsh MANKAD (IND) Vs George COUPLAND (GBR)
Gregoire BURQUIER (FRA) Vs Chris EATON (GBR)
Neil BAMFORD (GBR) Vs Adrian MANNARINO (FRA) (2)

Pleased for George Coupland, great result, hope he gets himself a point but Mankad's a shocking draw, excellent player, not back from injury all that long, but if he's fit he'll be very tough.

Also glad Matt Smith seems to be over his injury troubles and back to some sort of form, he had keyhole surgery in his wrist and had a lot of problems with it but he seems to be coming back and he could be a tough 2nd round for Bloomers.

Disappointed that so many brits in top quarter only one will get to make 4 points out of Bloomers, Brewer, Flan, Smith and Kasiri.

Difficult draw for George Morgan but will be good to see what he's like, all in all some interesting first round ties. Should be a good day tomorrow for Trivial.

Yeah, play starts at 10:00am. All the matches first up involve foreigners, but then every single match (singles and doubles first round) involves at least one Brit.

Am I being blind or are Bloomers and Skupski skipping the doubles this week?

Skupski is playing with Eaton by the looks of it, can only assume as Bloomers was a late entrant Skupster got himself a different partner.

Worth pointing out, perhaps, that Bloomers or no, Eaton & Skupski are the fourth seeds & Allinson & Bamford the second? wink

Ah, thanks Christian. I was being partially blind then, I couldn't spot either name. Thanks for pointing it out. As you say, probably due to the fact that Bloomers was a late entrant.

You're quite correct no details on ITF Juniors!
BUT LTA have him listed complete with a picture
http://www.lta.org.uk/Performance/TopPlayerProfiles/TopPlayersBoys/MorganGeorge.htm

Crikey -  I have just noticed that he is 6'2" - Still  he as lots of time to grow biggrin

Will tennis soon become like basketball? Anything less than 6'6" unacceptable?
