So he'll be a bit rusty, then! wink  Good time for Jamie to play him... pray.gif

Do we know if there are TV cameras on Court 7?  Must be a chance the Beeb will show it, if there are... please.gif

Well the good news is that Karlovic hasn't reached the second round of the Aussie Open since 2004 and hasn't ever gotten past round2.

The bad news is during that he's usually been the underdog and he's never played let alone lost to someone outside the top 100 let alone top 200.

Go Jamie!! please.gif

Karlovic is capable of beating, and losing to, anyone. I predict that there will be four tiebreakers and last for three weeks. No idea who will win, mind.

Some people on other sites seem convinced that this will be on tv....haven't heard anything though from BBC/LTA/Eurosport ? confused.gif

Jamie has a slight chance given Ivo's record in Melbourne and his dismal showing in Doha last week but although its a slow surface, it's very bouncy which will suit the BFG nicely....hopefully Jamie will put up a good showing, first time he'll have played anyone of this class in an ATP match

He's played two top 20 players to date, both in exhibition matches....lost 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 to Fernando Gonzalez and 6-4, 6-0 to Mikhail Youzhny.....both at Boodles

There is live coverage on Eurosport (which I haven't got furious.gif ) from midnight, but no guarantee Jamie will be on.

The courts at Melbourne park have been re-laid & are pretty quick by all accounts, most similar to the US Open, now the fastest surface of the slams.

Fortunately & surprisingly Flushing Meadows has not been a good hunting ground for Karlovic either & his best showing was in 2003 where he reached the 3rd round, going down to the flying dutchman Sjeng Schalken in 3 breakers.
If Baker can get enough balls back in play of the Karlovic serve, I think he can win but he must take care of his own serve clinically!!
Fingers crossed for Jamie!!!

In that case, if not available via BBCi, maybe it will be available on-line, as per Doha...? idea ( pray.gif  I haven't Eurosport, either... cry )  I intend to investigate, anyway! wink

The Murray match is being screened from about 3am onwards on BBCi. No Jamie sadly :(

Karlovic is one of those players that I can't honestly say I rate that highly. OK, he may be 20th in the world but like everyone says, Grand Slam record? What Grand Slam record? Whenever I watch him, and we usually have to when he goes to Nottingham evileye (Mum loves to watch the 'Big Tall Man'...), I don't think he's actually that good.

Yeah, he serves from a tree but to be honest, he's not that great a player IMO.

I'm expecting a few 7-6s in the scoreline. Hopefully going Jamie's way biggrin

Now, I wonder whether they will choose channel 301 or 302? Whichever one I set the video for will NOT be the right one, I guarantee!
