I made a table of the predictions back in January. I've dug it up and despite it seeming to have been a relatively good year, around 80% of the predictions turned out to be over-optimistic ... and only 5 out of 21 players whose rankings were predicted by two or more people before the 2008 AO did better than the average ranking people expected. Can you guess who they were?
I'll add a bit of colour and post the table in the next day or two.

Eaton yes, Evo yes, but Slabba everyone was overoptimistic about (once you take into account that he'll have dropped to about 350 by the end of the year when his African points come off) and nobody bothered to predict for Fleming or Milton. (possibly one person predicted for Milton, I excluded those who hadn't been predicted by more than one person since those predictions were all way out anyway)
There's one more player (in the GB top 10) who outperformed the average guess by 22%, the same as Eaton, and two players who outperformed the average guess but by less than 5%. (Evo outperformed by 17%)
