nope...Smith's just had a couple of bad years but he's still grinding it on tour, now down at about 900ish.....Marray's been plagued with shoulder trouble throughout 2007

Interesting choices. Getting a 50 place zone to choose from this year are we? wink.gif

My 2008 year end predictions are -

Andy Murray: 2

Boggo Bogdanovic: 145

Jamie Baker: 95

Bloomers Bloomfield: 210

Josh Goodall: 250

Slabba: 220

Miles Kasiri: 230

Jonny Marray: 350

James Ward: 150

Kenneth Skupski: 315

Ed Seator: 650

Chris Eaton: 500

Morgan Phillips: 320

Matt Smith: 650

Myles Blake: 590

Dan Cox: 450

Dan Evans: 450

Rushby to retire

Irwin: 1000

Bamford to retire

Dave Brewer: 810

Dave Rice: 900

Willis: 600

Jack Carpenter: 1200

I had to go optimistic because another year like last year is'nt worth thinking about.

Also, if today's top juniors are not in the top 500 by year end thenlets be honest they're not going to have the impact we're hoping for!

Sheddie who do you think will be above Murray in the rankings? I'm guessing Nadal, Federer and Djokovic but who's the fourth?

I just wanted to have a go at these, I could be miles out though ...

End of 2008 rankings IMO:

Murray 3
Baker 105
Boggo 170
Ward 240
Slabinsky 250
Goodall 270
Kasiri 340
Bloomfield 350
Skupski 370
Seater 400 (i think it a bit unfair that people don't rate this guy, he's seems to be choosing tournaments well and getting good experience, I think he'll continue that and have a decent year)
Eaton 450
Blake 480

Marray and Phillips ?????

500-600: Cox, Flanagan

600-700: Rice

So I'm predicting between 12 and 14 players in the top 500 by the end of 2008 - that's got to be a good aim for the LTA? What do people think?

If they can do that then 2009 could be the year for people to start taking British Tennis more seriously.

Andy Murray - 2
Alex Bogdanovic - 94
Daniel Cox - 392 unless the LTA mess his schedule up, which I'm afraid is very possible.
Daniel Evans - 450.
Marcus Willis - 590.
Jamie Baker - 146.
Josh Goodall - 189.

I'll come back with more.

Murray: 5 (I think he will reach at least the quarters in all slams except FO, though i hope he proves me wrong!)

Boggo: 130 (up and down with boggo, i hope he near the top 100 come end of 08)

Baker: 150 (If he starts the year by qualifying Auckland, then aiming near the top 100 will be great for him!)

Bloomfield: 200 (will struggle this year)
Goodall: 200-300 (i want him to do well, but again he needs to be consistent i doubt hes got that)

Slabba: 299 (after his excellent 15k win, i expect great things, but it will be good progress if he cracks the top 300 this year)

Kasiri: 400 (after his good season, he should exceed my expectations, but again a potential player to do very well this year, lets hope his 'positive' attitude is still there)

Ward: 410 (as clay courter, he should do well, on other surfaces i do not know what his results will be, he should be able to qualify for at least one 50k)

Skupski: 500 ( i have not got a clue about this guy, but since he is pass his peak, he will struggle)

Cox: 500 (Like Willis and Evans, he is expected to do well this year, and may cause an upset somewhere!)

Marray: 800 (sorry to put his ranking so low, but he will struggle afer his lay off in 2007)

Willis: 650 (should do well this year, but i will be surprised if he did something massive this year)

Evans: 650 (same written as Willis, he got potential to exceed the ranking i have predicted, but it will good progress in the making)

 I assume that's a typo johnnylad?

I'm far too chicken to make predictions - especially for Andy, in case I jinx him!
