Just noticed that Jamie beat Peya at Queens last year....Peya really done nothing since beating some top players at Zagreb early last year and struggled to win his opening match.
Great results from both of our boys. I thought Jamie had a great chance but didn't expect it to be that much of a walkover and from the sounds of the report, that wasn't simply a case of Schukin playing very badly.
Boggo as well, lovely to see him come through.
I hope for two more wins, but having both of them through has already exceeded my expectations so I'm pretty happy.

i have emailed alex, see if he has anything to say about the match (normally very little tho) but looking at the stats he did seem to serve well, 74% of 1st serves in the 1st aset and 85% in the 2nd. no df's, and a 93% win on 1st serve.
even is RG was injured getting that many 1st serves in is nice (7 aces too)
RG serve % was 58 and with him only winning 30% on his 2nd serves its no wonder alex won.
only took 4 of 9 bp's, i know it was enough, but i want him to take more of these big points. over 50% at least as these are the ones that really matter in the end.

Wouldn't it be nice if they can keep this form up for a few more days ...
Btw I watched the very end of Jamie's match against Peya at Queen's - he was SO happy to win that one, coming back from a set down to win 3-6 7-6(5) 6-3, so I imagine he's going to be desperate to do the same again. Peya has beaten most of the GB Challenger level players over the years though (Boggo, Parmar, Bloomers, Mackin, Aucks, etc), which made Jamie's win last year even more of a shock.
