Week 2 - Australian Open Qualifying

He was 15-40 in the first game of the second set, and I was thinking yes he is going to waltz this set as well. But then he lets Stadler back in it. And at 5-5 3rd set he was 15-40 up and then lost 8 straight points to lose the match.

Just not good enough.

i agree wolf, i have said onthe other boards that i thinkthsi is really the biggest area alex needs to improve. he has no porblem making chances, but he just cant seem to take them. i am guessing he missed 10+bp's thats not good enough as i would have though he would have been winnign more than 50% of the overall points in the match.

in fact i even said this after looking at the stats of hsi 1st win vs oger in NC, although in this case i hate to be right

Bitterly disappointed by Boggo, its not like he was playing a top 100 player and just getting beat, the guy was ranked around 200 so he should have won comfortabely especially after the first set.

I wonder if Jamie B has any idea quite how many people are going to be watching livescores at 2 am and cheering him on ... I remember him looking astonished when the Ja-mie Ba-ker chant started up for his DC dead rubber, as if he wasn't aware that many people even knew his name. smile.gif

The story so far ... Jamie's score first.

Jamie breaks to love *1-0
Jamie holds with difficulty 2-0*
Dani holds with difficulty *2-1
Jamie holds to love 3-1*
Dani survives a break point *3-2
Jamie holds 4-2*

Three very long games in those first six, but not a patch on the Warburg match which lasted nearly 4 hours.

Dani holds *5-4
Jamie holds to 15 to win the 1st set 6-4! smile.gif

From the stats, they're very evenly matches on winners, UEs, 1st serve % ...

2ND SET

Dani holds to love *0-1
Jamie holds 1-1*

Jamie's 1st serve % is 70%, very good. 16 winners to Jamie, 17 to Dani, 10 ues each. BP conversions Jamie 1 of 3, Dani 0 of 2.

A long, long hold as Jamie gets bp - maybe Dani smashing a few rackets in a last gasp attempt to intimidate him?

Jamie breaks and will serve for the match *5-4!
