Anne won their only previous encounter 6-2, 6-2 on clay in 2006. Ruutel's ranked 195, pretty much an all-surface player, made challenger semis indoors, on clay and hard. Best result was a 25K final in Italy in the summer. She beat Bally 6-1, 7-5 in her first tournament back in March but lost a 3 setter to Anna Smith in Nottingham in the autumn

The tournament site (via Sony WTA) has Anne winning the first set 6-4, but it's not clear whether the match is still being played.

Certainly looks like a great opportunity now for Anne....Kustova's ranked 191, had her best results on clay last year - three 25K titles

She's top 100 in doubles though and won a WTA title so not to be underestimated...did well to take out world no 77 Kudryavtseva
