Report on site for Manisha's win over the second seed: The biggest upset was when in the girls singles, second seeded Yvette Vlaar of The Netherlands lost to Manisha Foster of Great Britain 3-6 7-6 6-3. After winning the first set comfortably Vlaar took an early lead in the second set but Foster broke back to level the scores at 4-4. In the ninth game Vlaar broke serve to lead 5-4 but Foster broke back again and then held serve to lead 6-5. The set then went into the tie breaker which was won by the Brit 7-5.
Foster, playing only her second international junior tournament, took control in the final set winning the decider 6-3. I am very happy with the result said Foster. To come all the way from England to play here in South Africa and to beat the second seed in only my second ITF event is a great boost for my confidence. Foster now meets her sister Anjoli in round 2 who is touring with her here in South Africa.
