Finally up on ATP and Bains must have pulled out after all. Some called Alastair Morris was in qualies, never heard of him myself and he lost 6-1 6-2 to Gilad Berman (ISR).
Slabs has won his 1st round match against Alain Ntamag (FRA) 1014 6-4 6-4, he plays Rupesh Roy (IND) ranked 1130 so has a great chance of the quarters, sadly as usual he is seeded to meet the number 2 seed Amir Weintraub (ISR) 324 at that point.
Not sure. He had some time off this year with various injuries so hopefully he get a couple of weeks off over Christmas and New Year and hit the ground running with a nice new ranking!!
Good win, Ntamag can be dangerous. Weintrub can be beaten if he gets that far.
By my reckoning slabba could find himself in the top 500 with a final appearance here.... Good win today and he should win his QF match against a player who has never ranked in the top 1000 and got his career high of 1242 over 4 years ago.

Interestingly, Slabba's one of only three seeds left in the singles, the others being El Amrani (MAR/4) & Koniusz ((POL/8)! He could play El Amrani in the SFs, if he does beat Ford-da Silva (ranking often seems to count for little at this level! ) & El Amrani the Ivorian, Valentin Sanon... That said, since he & Singh beat him & Fattar, the 3rd seeds, in the doubles QFs after a bit of a battle, he obviously knows what it takes! All credit to the lad: he keeps plugging away &, so far this week, he's kept winning!
Great stuff from Slabba, grinding out some tough wins...Rupesh Roy is a decent player, was top 20 in junior rankings last yr
This is a 15K+H so a lot more pts available than usual...how many does Slabba need for top 500 taking into account the 3 he got in Sudan last week
Big, big stroke of luck with Weintraub going out....Im just like @ that result...he's had good wins in a number of challengers this year while the Nigerian guy hasnt played a tourney since March..Slabba should be able to take full advantage....with so many seeds falling, this tournament's really anyone's to take now
