What an eventful week here so far!! Mat & Dave Thomson were in qualies at the start of the week with Lewis Barnes & James Richardson DA. Mat played awesome tennis through out Qs' & beat the top seed in the 1st rnd of Qs' & Dave came from 1-5 down in the final rnd to qualie with his twin. In the MD Mat drew a fellow Q & won in straight sets & Dave knocked out 6th seed Bega from Italy 4 & 0! Richo followed them in to the 2nd but Barnesy was unlucky to go out. All 3 Brits continued their good form in causing upsets to reach the quarters where mat pulled off the upset of the tourny so far to beat 3rd seed sood, Richo lived up to his seeding of 4 to reach the semis but Dave hindered by a back injury went out to the top seeded Singh 6-2 6-1. In the semis today Singh saw off Richo comfortably but Maty T caused another upset to beat the 2nd seed 6-4 6-4 & advance to his 1st ITF final!! Richo & Barnesy went out of the doubles in the semis' too going down 6-2 7-6, Mat & Dave Thomson withdrew in the quarters due to Daves back injury. Dave has flown to Mumbai to play qualies for the next event whilst Mat has been given a special exempt in to MD, so is in Delhi still preparing for the final...heres hoping he can round off a great week with a title & that all 4 boys have an even better week next week.....after the comforts (or lack of!!) of this week we have all deserved it!! Florida is just a distant memory!!!!

Its Not Who You Know But What You Know.........Or Is It???
Unfortunatly it was a round to far for Mat who was playing his 8th match in 7 days, coupled with the fact that Karunday Singh was playing near perfect tennis in the first, Mat went down 6-2 7-6 (11-9), all credit to Mat for giving himself the oppotunity to take the match to a 3rd set but Singh showed why his is on course for the top 100 & played bigger tennis when it mattered!
The first set was one of the best sets I have seen by any junior in 2007, so expect big things from Mr Singh in 2008. Onwards & upwards Mat has been given a special exempt into the main draw for Mumbai & his ranking will soar after this, overall a good week for the boys & hopfully they will build on it!
