Week 48 - Futures F1 (15k) - Khartoum, Sudan

more like the good old fashioned "remember to never touch the salad in Africa" curse.

poor Slabba, I hope he's OK. That must be so frustrating when he's on such good form and so close to the top 500.

Is he playing again next week?

Impressive result for Brewer, 6-2 6-1 against a player ranked above is great stuff. Shame for Slabs but hopefully Maniel Bains can take advantage and get a quarter final.

Incidentally could anyone point me in the direction of anywhere I can see the points to be gained for futures tournaments please. Challengers always have them on the drawsheet and although I could always wait for Steven's ever helpful rankings lists it's always nice to see upfront and I can never find the points.

A shame, looks like he had a poor start and that was it. :(

Great news from the doubles for both of them though :)

Excellent win for Matt & Muza to take advantage of their unexpected appearance in the doubles draw (my only regret is that it had to be as a result of Slabba's withdrawal).  Having read in Ruckelshausen's ITF bio that his favourite surfaces were hard courts & grass, however, I'd kinda hoped that the Austrian pairing had at least a potential Achilles heel! wink  Best of luck to both pairs tomorrow:  may the better team win...
