The latest report, from today's Times, on BG's is it on/is it off? relationship with the LTA. Heading: "Bogdanovic comes out best as Gilbert stays on with LTA". I have to say, at the risk of being shot down in flames the minute this appears on the board, especially by The Voice, much as I'd like to see Alex benefit from the expertise of the US coaching giant & fight his way into the top 100 in the world, not to mention the undisputed right to the second singles berth in the DC team, given Gilbert's abrasive character & Alex's apparent lack of psychological fortitude at key moments in certain matches, I'm not convinced he's the right man to bring out the best in of him... Of course, I'd like nothing better than to be proved wrong...
I think that Boggo's old enough and probably professional enough to deal with such things. It can do nothing wrong, at least.
Harman says this today -
"Not only that, Peter Lundgren, the Swede who is also the Great Britain Davis Cup coach, will accompany Bogdanovic to his first two events next year, up to the Australian Open, for which he will attempt to qualify, and then through a series of clay-court events before the Davis Cup tie against Argentina in Buenos Aires in early February."
That probably confirms that at least Alex will be doing Vina Del Mar. Hopefully Baker and the Murrays will be there, too.
What's Boggo's first event of the year, by the way? Madras, Adelaide or the Challenger in New Caledonia?
