Was hoping for a little more from Jade. Good performance from Amanda, her opponent was ranked 7 in doubles. unlucky for georgie aswell.
Katie for the title smile

Next year could be a big year for Jade.
She's come on loads this year.
In fact next year could hopefully be good all
round for our girls as they seem to all be moving
upwards now.

Mel has a chance for revenge for last week's defeat against Ellen Barry.
Katie will have her work cut out against Dutch teenager Nicole Thyssen, who ousted the second seed last week, and comfortably disposed today of the Taipei girl who beat Katie last week.

Very well done by Mel. This is the sort of level of player she needs to be beating to get back to her high ranking. Good luck for today, but it's going to be a big ask beating two higher-ranked Aussies back to back here.

Fingers crossed for an all British final. That would be fantastic. If Mel could climb back into the top 200 before the end of the year, that would be 5 girls in the top 200. What a base to start from next year.

Excellent results. Katie's SF combined with Anne's withdrawal from Xiamen means that Katie will regain the British No. 1 slot in 2 weeks time.

Wow, excellent battling wins especially from Mel.....Ferguson's ranked 159 and has made two 25K finals and won a 50K this autumn ! Mel should be top 200 now as a result of this week, so AO qualies place is secure

Katie's aim of making the AO main draw cut is still just about alive...she could do with winning this week and then making the final in Mount Gambier next week to give herself a chance going into the China 75k.

Looking ahead to this morning's semis.....Pavlovic has a 3-1 head to head against Katie which isnt promising. Katie won 6-1, 6-4 in Surbiton but Pavlovic beat her 3&3 in the Nottingham quarters a few weeks ago

On paper Katie shouldn't have too much trouble as the Frenchwoman is only ranked 298 and lost in Port Pirie rd1 last week....however, her game does seem to pose particular problems for Brits...she beat Naomi Cavaday in straights on the grass too

Mel against Adamczak could go either way...likely to be another close one...both are hard hitters from the back and like to tee off on the forehand. If Mel can get her serve firing it could give her the edge. The Aussie is ranked 167, has been very consistent over the past few weeks, three semis down under....Anne K beat her 6-1, 7-5 in the States and Naomi beat her 7-5 in the 3rd in India....Georgie came v close in rd1 this week
