QR1/2 results up at last. All the seeds qualified for QR3, apart from:

Unranked Adam Barratclough beat no 15 seed David Nylen from Sweden 3-6 6-2 6-4 smile.gif - he plays no. 1 seed Capkovic next.

Joshua Milton shocked no. 4 seed Richard Irwin 2-6 7-5 7-6(4) and plays no. 14 seed Ivanov next.

It's disgusting that Goodall got a wild card ahead of Skupski or Evans. Surely it's not someone else's fault that he didn't enter? I'd understand if this had been the first time, but the same happened Edinburgh, too. Would it really hurt if he went through qualies here?


Goodall's not to blame, though. Why would anyone refuse stuff for free?

Because he thought he was going to play Helsinki....he waited till Wed and at that point he wasn't going to make the main draw cut directly and he thought he'd go too deep into the Redbridge draw to make qualies in time so he asked for a Sunderland wc

Not a great draw for the Brits there, with only Goodall, Skupski and Eaton looking like they may be able to win (outside chances for Cox and Flanagan)

Well done to all who qualified, but this doesn't look as if it is going to be a great week with lots of Brits going deep
