Naomi's entered and will be 4th seed.

Lisicki and Larcher de Brito look like the main dangerous floaters. On form I'd say she'd have a good chance of winning this but she's really struggled in her past few events.....hopefully she can make latter stages, semis would be good

I hadn't noticed that MLDB had broken into the top 400. omfg.gif


Anyways, good luck to Naomi. She is due to play in India next week and it's at the same place where she won her first women's title, so hopefully she will turn up and do well.

I also hope that she will do the Orange Bowl, although I don't think that she will.




Margot Carter is in qualies and plays top seed Piia Suomalainen in the first round.

Yeah MLDB is now ranked 322 jawdrop.gif Quite incredible for a 14 yr old who's only played 6 tournaments this year !!!!!!!!! She made semis of a 75K and 25K

That 25K in India is a great choice from Naomi, field there is so weak ! Top seed is ranked 127, but the cut goes down to 600s...she really should make the final there without too much trouble which would be quite a healthy chunk of pts !

I'll ask her about the Orange Bowl, does the winner get a wc into Miami or something ?

Yes, the girls' winner gets a main draw wild card normally and the boys' winner gets a qualies wild card.

Naomi may get a wild card as it is, for that matter...

why do you think she may get a wc ? She aims to make the cut on ranking but that'd be tough, though if she has a good run down under at the start of the year, who knows !

that 14 year old beat Meghann SHAUGHNESSY in a wta main draw this year and then lost to hanchucova 75 60, she is increddible for 14. and any majority time she loses she loses in three sets. and i thought tara moore was nearly wold class but bloody hell
