Matt Smith incredibly unlucky to meet Karol Beck in QR2 after a great win against Timo Nieminen in QR1. Ed Allinson the only survivor to the FQR after his QR2 opponent retired in the 3rd set.
Ok draw for Alex (v Q, though he is in the no. 1 seed's quarter), rubbish draws for Bloomers (v (3) Haase) and Skupski (v (6) Guez), I'll post all the Q results and full R1 draw done in a few minutes.

QR3: Edward Allinson WR 1041 v (q3) Igor Sijsling (NED) WR 507
As I said, terrible luck for Matt to beat the top seed only to meet Karol Beck in QR2 in his third week back after his drugs ban!
David Rice partly repaid Sheddie's faith by taking the 1st set off Charroin and it was a good day for unranked Matthew James - a double bagel followed by him taking a set off Charroin too.

If anyone is interested - the matches with British interest tommorow are Allinson qualies match, Goodall v Hewitt, Bloomers doubles match and Goodall/Skupski v Irwin/Smith.
I am thinking of popping down on Tuesday. Does anyone know the name of the place this is being played at?
I've just noticed that the no. 1 seed here, Mischa Zverev (Boggo's potential QF opponent if he gets that far) won the super-Challenger in Dnepro this week, beating:
Phau WR 184 Stakhovskiy WR 275 (4) Ben Becker WR 76 (1) Canas WR 15 (the only player who took a set off him) (2) Tursunov WR 34
Ouch!

maybe he'll be so exhausted that he's taken out in the second round leaving Boggo's way clear
More importantly hope that Boggo's injury is all better, Count any idea whether or not that's the case?
Nasty draw for Skupski but hopefully he can ignore the rankings, take heart from his results last week and cause a huge upset. Anyone know who the highest ranked player he's beaten is? There were some high ranked opposition in the summer but I can't remember if they were the ones he lost to!

Skupski beat Brendan Evans wr 252 in Nottingham qualies and came very close to knocking out gimelstob as well so he has definitely got a chance in the first round here, especially since his confidence will be so high!
i hope so imo, have been away all weekend so havn't got any news, didnt even know about the brad gilbert thing till i saw it on news 24 in a service station :)

Whats annoying is the last direct Acceptance for the event is J Pospisil who is ranked 416, so if Goodhall had gone in as an alternative he would of been in and an extra WC place could of been used.
