excellent effort, I wasn't expecting him to be that close. Hopefully he doesn't leave this week as a flash in the pan but moves onto bigger and better things. please.gif

Hey guys sorry it is late but here is my reports from yesterday.

Goodall v Kunistyn
Got there when Goodall was a set and 2-0 down, Kunistyn totally overpowed him, his shots were too deep and accurate. In fact Kunistyn was the class act of the day from what I saw. Heard Josh mutter under his breath 'this is embarising' at one point.

Bogdanovic v Capkovic
I heard someone saying afterwards that Boggo didn't want to give 100% when serving in case of making an injury worse, and he didn't seem to be serving well, getting the odd ace with good placement but getting no power on it, and getting no cheap points. Boggo had one great game from 0-30 down in the game at 1-1 when he hit 3 beautiful forehand winners and an ace to recover. He actually went 4-2 up but then got broken to love next game and Capkovic went on to take the next 9 games, including 5 breaks of serves, Boggo managed to get a break back at 5-0 but then got broken back to lose the match. Boggo didn't seem up for it and Capkovic did. One thing I did pick up on is that Boggo when he really should go for the kill when the court is open he just tends to giude it into the corner instead of just whacking it and lets his opponent back in the point.

There difference between Boggo's and Goodall's attidude is interesting. Boggo shows little emotion but Goodall just lets it all out. I have to say I prefer Goodall's style, allthough he does go a bit over the top at times.

Juska v Huta-Gatlung
Huta-Gatlung made a few bad erros from what I serve, got broken twice early on, don't know what happened to him though, I was watching Boggo's match and I turned round and they were all gone!!

Bloomfield/Schoeck v Beck/Chramosta
Bloomers and Schoeck wanted to win it more, they looked like they were really up for it, while Beck and Chramosta didn't take it too seriously. Bloomers was the class act, serving and volleying well, and his return of serve was excellent. Schoeck played his part as well. They broke early in the first set, and held on to it. It was 3-3 in the second set but then then Bloomers and Schoeck won the next 3 games, with two breaks of serve.

Allinson/Flanagan v Bamford/Pederson
Topsy turvy affair, the all Brit pair breaking for 2-0 but then Bamford and the Dane getting back for 2-2 and breaking later in the set and held on. The all Brit combo went ahead again in the second but Flanagan got broken for the 3rd time. Neither Bamford or Flanagan looked happy at this point. Can't remember how the rest of the set went but a tie-break was forced and the all Brit pair were always ahead by a few, but I think Bamford/Pederson were ahead 8-7 with two of their serves to come but they lost them both and Flanagan won it with an ace. I was impressed with Allinson.

Goodall/Skupski v Nielsen/Norby
The Danes always seemed in control, a single break in the first was enough. Goodall got a code violation in the second for throwing his raquet at his bag and then kicking a ball can towards one of the umpires, who then had a priceless frown on his face! Anyway the Danes were serving for the set at 5-4 but the Brits went 0-40 up before losing the next 4 points (sudden death deuce) to lose the match. Ken and Josh didn't play that bad, just didn't win the crucial points. Love Ken's serve.

Generally I wasn't impressed by that standard of volleying (Bloomers/Schoeck apart) in doubles, they couldn't seem to control the ball when it was hit hard at them, and there was no nice touches or anything like that.

Also I think a few of the guys (definately Flanagan and Goodall I think) seemed to be looking for someone called 'wolf', I feigned innocence but obviously not well because they sussed who I was as Flan shouted "wolf we know it is you" after his match.

Thanks for the reports. So why are you so infamous with them? You tend to be nicer to them than the rest of us!

What is that meant to mean? Haha.

I am guessing they read this thread and saw I said I was coming. How they sussed out it was me I have no idea, maybe because I was trying to eavsdrop when they had a big conversation when they met on Court while Flan/Allinson came off and Goodall/Skupski came on.
