The ATP Race....

Andy stays behind Robredo at the moment cry.gif He is up one place on the week at 10th though.

Today we need Blake to DEFINITELY lose, or he'll re-overtake.

Moya, Gasquet and Ljubicic could also do with losing.

Andy MUST beat Djokovic/Montanes to have any chance at all of reaching Shanghai so if Djoko could lose too that's be great.

So get those pins/malevolent thoughts/any other sabotage tactics out it's a busy day evileye.gif

w00t.gifw00t.gif Djokovic loses 3&2 to Santoro things just got a tad easier, we still need Andy to win tomorrow and everyone around him to lose but still this is great news

Just looking at Andy being interviewed about playing Santoro and wondered, albeit somewhat prematurely, just how they would manage his hair if he gets to be a warrior. Could be quite amusing.

What if...?

Andy were to lose in rd3?

He'd have 341 points.
He'd overtake no one.
He could be overtaken by Berydch and Blake if they win one more match; Gasquet and Moya and Canas if they win two more matches; Ljubicic and Youzhny if they win three more matches; Baghdatis if he wins four more matches; Karlovic and Nalbandian if they win five more matches.
Best case: nc at 10
Worst case: down 6 at 16

The rest of the what if doesn't say who can overtake, that will be added as Andy gets to each round ie if he wins tomorrow I'll complete the what if for the QFs.

Andy were to lose in the qfs?
He'd have 351 points.
He'd definitely overtake no one.
He could overtake Haas and Robredo if they LOSE their next match.
Best case: 8th

Andy were to lose in the sfs?
He'd have 371 points.
He'd definitely overtake no one
He could overtake Haas and Robredo if they go out before the semis.
Best case: 8th

Andy were to lose in the f?
He'd have 396 points.
He'd definitely overtake Gonzalez.
He could overtake Haas and Robredo if they go out before the final.
Best case: 7th
Worst  case: 8th as only one of Haas/Robredo/those behind can reach the final if Andy's already there.

Andy were to win the tournament?
He'd have 426 points.
He'd definitely overtake Gonzalez, Haas and Robredo.
He could be overtaken by no one.
Best case: 7th
Worst case: 7th

laughing.gif would be great to see.

I wonder if the organisers are regreting saying they'd make everyone a warrior, they can't have expected so many people to still be in the running at this stage.
