RE: The ATP Race....

Thanks for welcome back.  Sorry, been a bit busy over the summer months, not that Andy was up to much most of the time !  Anyway, popped back in for the end of the season.

As you say, pity about losing to Tipsarevic in the last 16 in Moscow.  Although he would have had to have gone on and reached the final there to improve on his overall points total ( since his 5th best "other" is now 22 )

We need Youzhny and Robredo to lose. i think Gonzo probably just about win his match aginst Youzhny while Robredo probably lose to Simon, lets hope the latter one is true!

Grrrr. furious.gif

I read on another board a link to an article in German where he says he is not very interested in going to Shanghai, as among other reasons it meant being away from home for six weeks in total. The least he could have done is lose, then!

Youzhny has beaten Gonzalez which is not absolutely ideal.

However, he did start the tournament 37 points behind Andy.

So if he would be kind enough now to beat Hass too and then not do anything silly like go all the way to the final, we can let him off !

I've finally managed to create a Race table for this week. hopefully the formatting works ok please.gif

As you can see, Andy has lost a place due to Berdych's win. If he wins today, he'll go straight back up again, and also overtake Blake (unless Blake wins later). I'll do a what if for Andy soon.

I think Murray overtakes Robredo. Now we need Robredo, Haas, Blake and Berdych to lose their matches! Oh, and hopefully Djokovic will be injured in his match or at least go to 3 sets. Because if this scenario happens, then Murray must Djoko/Montanes to have a reealistic chance of winning the 8th spot.
