Alejandro Gonzalez is 1989 born and probably has a great future ahead of him, so that's a terrible draw.

I'm all up for as many British players doing the circuit and trying to get more players on a higher ranking, but surely with these 2 it must be demoralising for them to lose every week. They are obviously not going to make a career out of tennis, so I wonder what their ambitiions and goals are. I hope they do go on runs and start to climb up, but does make you wonder

i thought this was pretty harsh. purely for the fact that they could read this at some point, we all need to be carefull what we say about other peoples careers. many players might not be able to make it to the top 100 but giving up a dream is rather hard. and  the reason so many people persist with tennis is that you need to give it up knowing that you gave it everything.

Just reread what I put and didnt mean it to sound so harsh. What I meant was I feel for these guys mentally as wonder how they can keep going and motivating themselves, and surviving especially when we have seen many of our top 300 players retiring with little left in pocket. I would like to see as many Brits playing as possible, but do wonder how they can get themselves going in these type of events

woah ho, these are people careers but they also play sport, all sportsmen are open to ciriticism, if they don't like it then they don't have to listen. No one should be pussy footing around on this forum biting their tongue because players may read the site. We don't want to alienate ourselves from the players but at the same time this shouldn't be an arse licking board. I think its a shame that players like this obviously have the money to tour and more talented ones have to quit tennis because they can't afford it. I just hope these to dont recieve LTA funding because they obviously don't deserve it.

Very very well put. I do sometimes wonder whether the increase in players reading this board could in some way not be such a great thing. It leads to people being scared to criticise. This is a sports board and I think as long as people don't get overly personal then criticism of players should be allowed. If you would then like to defend said players then obviously that is fine too, but the defense that the players might read it and get offended is a far from valid one.
