Anna has to win 2 matches to make main draw, really should qualify here, there's no one in that section to trouble her..but then again Anna and USA tournaments don't really go well together confused.gif

i must say i used to think anna could produce such good results. but now i just never know if she is going to win or lose????
i expected her to lose this but with a better score line than that, this america trip has not been great for her

This was a good reality check for Anna, said Monte-Carlo Tennis Academy Director of Coaching David Sammel. She has just had an insight into her future and the level of mental aggression she will have to bring to reach the top 100.

Anna, who currently stands at No. 385 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, said: [Kleybanova] was literally hitting winners from everything. I attacked her second serve on my backhand and tried to follow it in and she hit clean winners off that three or four times.

The British No. 9 will now head to Florida for a two-week training camp with the MCTA, and Sammel knows where the focus of attention will be. A key goal for the training camp is gaining weight to help her weight of shot, said Sammel. We have been here before with Anna. In April the same happened to her in Croatia and she came back stronger.

Annas next tournaments will in Poland, the week beginning November 19, and then the Czech Republic, from the 3rd of December.

The MCTA site is great, you know. I saw that Ilija Vucic had been listed as British at Eddie Herr and became excited. I contacted them and they replied within a few hours. It was only a mistake, but great cooperation all the same.

R1

BRENGLE (USA) / FRILLING (USA) defeated FITZPATRICK (GBR) / VESELINOVIC (SRB) (2) 6-3 4-6 [17-15]

cry.gif but what a tussle.

Margot Carter pops up in doubles and gains a w/o against top seeds. Can she capitalise in the QF's?
