Week 43 Womens ITF 25K- Traralgon, Australia

In this case I think its a coincidence as Jade played dubs with Adamczak last week as well and made the final

No, you're right. But do they get the singles draw before the doubles sign in?

if so, it does seem a weird practice. I had never questioned it before. Just assumed the match ups were pure coincidence. Now I don't know what to think! smile.gif

Unfortunately that's not the case normally, from what I saw in the factsheets. So maybe it's just a coincidence with a high correlation. hmm.gif

Mixed news from Australia.

Monique Adamczak def. Jade Curtis 6-1 6-3 cry

Anne Keothavong def. Pauline Wong 6-3 4-6 6-0 smile

Good to see Anne winning again, she should win the title if she's fully fit.
Unlucky draw for Jade, does anyone think Jade maybe lacks the firepower that is stopping her from progressing up the rankings faster? She seems to be able to beat girls ranked around her comfortabely but whenever she plays top 250 player she seems to get very easily beaten.

hopefully she'll be fine for the 3 Aussie 25Ks in Nov....needs to make 2 finals I think for an AO direct entry cause she won a 25K end of last yr

Could be the case...she has got some big shots off the ground, I think it's the serve which lets her down against the higher ranked girls....a lot of the top 200 players can get a fair few freebies off their serves while Jade's (which is improving each year) is a weakness. It doesn't tell so much in the futures but does at 25K level.

Jade's performances in the futures this year have been encouraging....she's regularly beating players outside top 450 now which wasn't the case last yr
