Week 43 - Futures F1 (10k) - Islamabad, Pakistan

Welcome to the site Fitzy and best of luck tomorrow...let us know how it goes ! smile.gif

The courts sound erm interesting haha, maybe that's another reason why all the players avoided the tourney ! biggrin.gif It's crazy that pro tournaments are allowed on surfaces that bad, there's also the "classic clay" down under which is impossible to move on. I've heard that the dung can be quite good in some places when they've fully smoothed it out ! Nick Cavaday quite liked it biggrin.gif

I imagine that the grass for the next two weeks will be a little 'lumpy' !

What's the food and hotels like there...hope u can avoid getting the Pakistan version of delhi belly !! I've heard that in some Indian tourneys, players got transported from hotel to venue via elephants !

There we go again....

Why on earth would anyone hire an elephant when they could go by a car???? It would be 90% cheaper and 200% faster.

I think the elephants were provided by the tournament organisers...I doubt that the players hit the fields post-match and lassoed one

I think that there are more chances of players lassoing elephants than organisers providing them with one, given what facilities at Futures are like. ashamed.gif Elephant rides are terribly expensive!

have you ever been on an elephant ride ?

yeah i dunno how it happened because I imagine they are expensive, it was just for one evening though, mid-tournament....and I am 100% about it happening

Fitzy actually played 3 tourneys in India in May, we should ask him what they were like and whether he got to play on the dung idea.gif

Is Andrew any relation to Anna? I know she has a brother (at least one...) but I didn't know that they were also tennis folk.

Andrew FITZPATRICK (GBR) defeated Artem ISAEV (RUS) 3-6 6-1 6-0 clap.gifclap.gif Great comeback win.

Now he faces Bogdan-Victor Leonte of Romania, who's ranked 581.

hi, yes i dont mind doing a blog of my 3 tournaments not to sure how u would like me to do that or anything?
in reply to tournaments in india, i got bad delhi belly but my mates i went with got it worse, one came back with colora!
Get in first point, very happy about that. The guy kept me out there for ages grinding away on the brick, he was a clay courter and, to be honest i just out ran him and was fitter than him.
Tomorrow i think i will be playing the number 2 seed who is about 6'10 and roughly 580 or somthing, but he was taken to 3 sets so is deffinatly beatable.
Oh and the court i played on and will be playing on tomorrow is the worst out of all of them. You dont know where to serve from as there paint on lines and they wear off!
Thanks for the support, and im staying with my dad who lives and works here so its very handy!
Ive been driving his car, no elephants here.driving is a discrace over here, no rules, even driving down the wrong side of the road because you have missed your turn is acceptable!
