Very good to see Stoop back to the winning ways.
And lovely to see Katie taking it all in her stride and not stumbling now she's the seed.

Both matches look winnable (considering Stoop has already taken out the 4th seed) so hope to see more good results!

Some match info from a Turkish guy who was watching (I'll try and get more):

Rd2:

Georgie STOOP (GBR) def. Yuliya BEYGELZIMER (UKR) (4)

"It was really boring match.. too many errors for both girls.. It went to the 3rd set.. Georgie won it 6-3 in the 3rd.. But Beygelzimer loses her rythm after a wrong call from the umpire.."

O'Brien def. Majeric

Majeric was 5-2 up in the 1st but she totally lost her rythm. I like her game but she was very inconsistent.. After 0-3 down in the 2nd, she catched up to 3-3 but again drops her game..

QF:

Monica NICULESCU (ROU) (8) def. Vs Georgie STOOP (GBR) 6-2 6-4
This was a really close match, scoreline is absolutely deceptive..

Unfortunately Katie lost 6-4, 6-2 to Niculescu in today's semis cry.gif Unfortunately she doesn't gain any pts this week, just defends from reaching semis last year

Bit disappointing as Niculescu is only ranked 208 but she's been on form recently, making a 25K final in Canada and then quarters in Glasgow where she gave Arvidsson a very close match

Shows how well Georgie did this week, getting same no of games as Katie against her. So much for Georgie to defend next month so good to see her hitting some form

Luckily Katie has very little to defend now this year so it's all to play for in the three Aussie 25Ks and China...currently 65 places away from top 110 which would pretty much ensure a DA for the Aussie Open.

Unless she makes quarters in China it's looking like she's got to reach the final of all three Aussie 25Ks to do it cry.gif If Anne K can stay fit, making AO by DA shouldn't be an issue, she's only 19 pts away
