Should be seeded 5th then, or has he sank below 165. Always weird following the rankings a week ahead and the entry lists/draws a week ahead!
No one in the draw that Boggo can't beat and he seems to perform well in British Challengers. Quite hopeful for a Goodall wildcard and a good run form the man in form!
I guess now that Goodall, Cox, Evans and Willis have got the wcs ?
I think it's mostly the right choice......think that Tim Hewitt should have got one though for his recent results - he beat Bloomfield and made a 15K semi and also did well in Glasgow.....wasn't sure whether Skupski should get one or not, we know he's got the talent to go a lot higher but he's only made 2 quarters in futures this summer, hasn't really done anything big.
I would have said Kasiri/Ward for a wc as they've probably got more of a chance of winning challenger matches but Kasiri's been out of sorts lately and Ward's struggled a bit indoors.
Strange decision from Cox...will be interesting to see how Pauffley and Willis fare at this level....Evo played a few challengers in the summer, got very unlucky with draws as I remember.
Can't really see anyone qualifying, have to hope that someone steps up and causes an upset.
Skupski-Sandbichler could go either way, Sandbichler did well to make the Glasgow quarters and gave Bloomers a good match but Skupski had that great win over Vico who has been top 200.
Ward should make it through to final qualies round, getting past Fischer/Chramosta would be a tough ask though On clay I'd rate his chances but although he has the weapons to do well in future on fast surfaces, he needs to adapt his game...stand closer to the baseline, be a bit more aggressive and make use of his wingspan at the net.
A couple of interesting Brit v Brit matches....Kasiri v Eaton especially, Kasiri won 3&3 back in 2005 but on recent form you'd have to go with Eaton. The winner has a chance of making final qualies round, likely to be facing 5th seed Martin Pedersen. Pedersen was on fire in June, two futures finals and then made Dublin challenger final at start of July. However, he's barely won a match since then.
Slabba should beat Klier in rd1 The German's ranked 612...has made several futures quarters this year on all surfaces but has done nothing big.
I like those wildcard choices, I think for the first time in quite a few tournaments they're all right.
I'd like to see skupski qualify for this one, and pessimistic though it might be I think he's the only one with a realistic chance of beating the seeds in his section. (Ward whilst a seed himself would face Fischer in the FQR) Eaton might have a chance but other than that... I'll be pleasantly surprised if any Brits qualify at all

To look at a thing is quite different from seeing a thing and one does not see anything until one sees its beauty
Willis and Pauffley should be getting lots of WC's, but at futures level. They've played one professional main draw match and its too much of a lottery.
If Brewer got a Glasgow wildcard for the doubles performance in the week before then consistency says Ken's doubles title should get him a chance in the main draw here.
I would also like to have seen Slabba or Kasiri given the final WC. They have shown potential to perfrom at a higher level this year and have been robbed of a great chance here, to give two lads who will get many more chances next year a go.
Unless the LTA have no hope whatsoever for the generation of Skupski, Eaton, Ward and Kasiri and they know that Willis, Pauffley et al have a much better chance, which I don't think they can yet, they should back the lads who've batttled to 500-750 in the rankings.
(Notice I didn't call for Ward to get one. He's had a fair share and qualies will be good for him! )
Daniel Evans [1178] vs. Laurent Recouderc [205] of France Alex Bogdanovic [154] vs. Qualifier Joshua Goodall [310] vs. Tobias Kamke [243] of Germany Marcus Willis [Unr] vs. Neil Pauffley [Unr] Richard Bloomfield [267] vs. Bastian Knittel [292] of Germany
Tough draw for Evo there, but Willis and Pauffley are so lucky! Both Boggo and Rich will be pleased with their draws. Knittel has won just three main draw matches since May. Kamke is in good form since he beat Mirnyi a few days ago, but Josh has a good chance of taking it.
Has to be said, its a great step up for one of them! Should get them seeded in qualies for futures and a crack at a much higher ranked player in R2 with points already in the bag so less pressure...
