RE: Week 42 - Futures F20 (15k) - Glasgow, Great Britain

Second round:

Richard Bloomfield [267] vs. Neil Bamford [888]
Matthew Illingworth [1212] vs. Armin Sandbichler [431] of Austria
Joshua Goodall [310] vs. Robert Varga [988] of Hungary
Daniel Cox [1036] vs. Tim Goransson [765] of Sweden
Chris Eaton [780] vs. Martin Fischer [303] of Austria
Ken Skupski [1073] vs. Antal van der Duim [502] of the Netherlands

One clash is all British, Goodall outranks his opponent heavily in another.
Skupski and Cox have a decent chance of winning their matches if they play well. I'm hopeful of having four of our guys in the quarters.

Im looking for Cox to do something big now, i think its time for cox to go deep ion one of these futures. We know hes talented and has planety of time on his side, but hes been consistently beating players wth rankings, looking for him to do it a few times in one week now

Bloomers should not be getting pushed that close by Bamford.

So close for Illingworth and Eaton vs tough opponents. Eaton getting a set off Fischer is v.encouraging.

Sort of match Ken needs to win to really make a mark. He's still on the rise though!

Well done to Dan, Josh and Rich. Quite pleased with Dan's efforts this week.

Quarter finals:

Richard Bloomfield [267] vs. Armin Sandbichler [431] of Austria
Joshua Goodall [310] vs. Daniel Cox [1036]

Rich is far better than Sandbichler, so we should have a British finalist.

I'm quite annoyed that Cox is running into Goodall for the third time in his last seven tourneys. Good luck to both.

Thanks for the news Brian, How did Sandbichler look: should Bloomers easily beat him?  Will you be back there today?
