Who the hell gave David Brewer a wild card???????? Clearly Draper's "winning" mentality got a little sidetracked. Brewer hasn't picked up a point since Ireland in June, since then he has beaten just one player with a world ranking. Anyone care to explain? Totally bizarre

Possibly it is because he is Scottish, and so as the local player deserves a chance to play in the tournament. I think the real reason would be because he reached the doubles final last week, and so was unable to sign in for qualifying, and so the LTA decided not to penalise him for this success, and give him a WC as a result
Good wins for Skupski and Eaton, and Skupski looks to be a consistant performer at this level now, and needs to kick on to the next level and make SF's and F's, as that is where the big ranking points here are
Hopefully Slabba isn't too badly injured, and it looks as if the juniors put up a decent fight, but just need a bit more luck with the draws, or to play in the weaker events to gain some points and experience of winning
Great win again for Skupski. I was really impressed with him at Manchester last year and it looks as though he's getting more and more used to playing on the circuit. Remember he's only really been on the professional circuit since July and he's already close to, if not already by Monday, in top 1000. I see him getting up to top 300 and joining in fight with Goodhall, Marray, Bloomfield etc
Good to see Eaton getting another win under his belt. Shame about Slabba hope is isn't too badly injured. Wardy cant seem to get through the draws in Britain.

By my calculations, skupski should be in the 950s on Monday (due to last week's QF).
The win today should take him up to the 920s (in the rankings a week on Monday). A qf appearance to late 860s A sf appearance to the 810s A f appearance to the late 710s
A win to about 640.
All depending on who else is gaining/defending points, of course and very premature but just so you all know

Good wins for Bloomers, Bamford and Goodall as expected, while Illingworth and Cox also get wins, when they were probably the underdogs, so good on them for winning, especially Cox beating a top 400 player in Stoppini
Don't know what happened to Rushby, but that is a very poor loss, while Kasiri will be disappointed to lose like that
Evans put up a good fight, and will be encouraged by that, even though he lost
7 Brits win in the end then, and at least 1 will make the QF's, and good chances for Cox, Skupski and Goodall to join either Bloomers/Bamford in the last 8
